Long time no blog... I have been struggling with injuries since the last update, in October 2022. Apart from the proximal hamstring tendinopathy both Achilles tendons also started playing up, so it wasn't until May 2022 that I could finally start running again, or rather run/walk/running (aka jeffing, named for Jeff Galloway).
My entry for the Gold Coast Marathon had been transferred to 2022, but sadly this year I was nowhere near marathon shape. I downgraded to the 10k and was quite happy that I was able to finish that last Sunday (albeit it in a time much slower than my 10k PB). I have now done the 5.7k (in 2018), the 10k, and the half marathon (in 2019) at the Gold Coast Marathon festival - maybe next year I can finally do the full and get the last medal? (not feeling very confident at this moment, to be honest...)
I have continued to parkrun/walk/volunteer during those months that I couldn't run, and am now up to 143 parkruns and 59 volunteering credits. Last week we were on holiday in Tasmania where we attended the Queens Domain parkrun, so the elusive Q for the parkrun alphabet is in the bag!
Only four more letters to go: D, F, I and J! Stay tuned...
